To start he didn't re-trim the motor. He needed to trim the motor down to keep the bow down. Second, there was way more surf than the boat could handle and he didn't even try to finesse his way through it. Third, when the motor got swamped and stalled, he didn't even grab a life jacket. He should have grabbed one and jumped ckear of the boat before the wave hit that swamped the boat. Next one was sure to flip it.
